As we navigate through our professional and personal lives, it’s essential to establish and maintain high-trust and high-value relationships. These types of relationships not only benefit us in terms of personal growth and support, but they can also contribute to our success in a professional setting. When evaluating our current relationships, it’s important to identify common themes among those that have been particularly valuable and trust-based.
One exercise I’ve found helpful is assigning key attributes to each vowel of the alphabet. For example, A for authenticity, E for empathy, I for integrity, O for open-mindedness, and U for understanding.
By doing this, we can create a clear set of criteria for what we value in a relationship and use it as a guide for future connections.
